Hi Blogger.
I am bored so here is another answer to a question.
While intermittent fasting is all the rage (hello Hugh Jackman) skipping breakfast is more than two or three times a week can add extra inches to your waist and put your health on a downer. Harvard researchers found that 'men who skipped a morning meal were 21% more likely to be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes over a 16 year period than those who chowed down in the morning'. Failing to break your fast throws your blood sugar levels out of whack, which can lead to insulin resistance (which is not good at all). Instead of adding time to the overnight non-eating period, munch on low glycaemic breakfast bars. These stop blood sugar levels lowering out of control.
Another question:
Real Men Eat Their Meat Rare. Right?
While it's always tempting to pour scorn on outdated macho prejudices, there's some truth here. Certainly, If you respect your taste- buds - as any reel man should- the words 'well' and 'done' should never be uttered in sequence in a restaurant. But going pink isn't merely posturing- a study published in the journal PLos One reports that over cooking your protein may increase your risk of prostate cancer by 50% particularly if it's grilled or charred (I did not believe this until I read the article). Unless you're ordering fillet (in which case, frankly you're all money and no taste) your smart bet is medium-rare. the meat stays moist, much of the fat renders out, and your health stays put (and plenty of protein is still their).
I hope that you guys enjoy and find my posts useful. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask away.
