Sucker Punch Your Belly

Hi Blogger
I am sorry that I have not posted in a while but here is a new health pointer.

Building new-year muscle is no mean feat, especially when there is still a box of Quality Street to finish. But the secret to a new lies in the depths of your fishmonger's. While not your average lunch choice, octopus is armed with D-aspartic acid which boosts testosterone by 42%. The journal of reproductive biology and endocrinology found 12 days of tentacles spikes T-levels and makes swapping your yuletide paunch for an eight-pack abs a piece of fish. Can't stomach sea legs? Don't worry; turkey in your left over sandwiches packs a healthy 3g of DAA too. If you want instant, dope-free gains I insist you try a simple octopus salad with herbs and veg.

Cold Sore Secrets

Hi Blogger

I am hoping that everybody had a happy new year.

Today I will be giving tips to prevent cold sores

1) Stay On Red Alert

An estimated eight in ten people in the  UK alone will wind up harbouring the herpes simplex virus, which causes cold sores, with the soft mucus membranes of your lips being the most likely point of entry. The Virus is highly contagious, however you might not even know it's hiding there, so stay on Defcon 1 throughout winter is your best tactic.

2) Identify the Target

Once it's in, the herpes virus infiltrates your skin cells and replicates, infecting your nerve endings. The most obvious sign it's ready to come out of hiding is an itch or tingly sensation and tiny swelling on your lips. The moment you suspect any swelling on your lip, apply well-wrapped ice to prevent the virus from spreading to surrounding cells.

3) Lock It down

Any time you're under stress, your cortisol levels spike, weakening your immune system and making you more susceptible to cold sores. When you're working around the clock dose up on vitamin D3 immuace Extra (£10 vitabiotics.com0 packs the optimum amount to keep the virus well contained.

4) Feed your defences

An amino acid called lysine is your weapon of mass prevention;  the University of Maryland research found it has antiviral properties, reducing the risk of cold sore outbreaks. Red meat is rich in the stuff but for easy, everyday rations you can hit the three egg omelette for the same effect.

5) Weather The storm

If the virus makes it to the surface, it forms blisters that burst then scab over- your cold sore secret is officially out in the open. to mop up the damage, apply an over the-counter cream with at least 5% aciclovir five times a day and take ibuprofen to kill the pain. In four to six days it will be oral history

Breakfast used To Be Considered The Day's Most Important Meal. Toast Or Not To Toast? and Real men Eat Their Meat Rare. Right?

Hi Blogger.

I am bored so here is another answer to a question.

While intermittent fasting is all the rage (hello Hugh Jackman) skipping breakfast is more than two or three times a week can add extra inches to your waist and put your health on a downer. Harvard researchers found that 'men who skipped a morning meal were 21% more likely to be diagnosed with type 2 diabetes over a 16 year period than those who chowed down in the morning'. Failing to break your fast throws your blood sugar levels out of whack, which can lead to insulin resistance (which is not good at all). Instead of adding time to the overnight non-eating period, munch on low glycaemic breakfast bars. These stop blood sugar levels lowering out of control.

Another question:

Real Men Eat Their Meat Rare. Right?

While it's always tempting to pour scorn on outdated macho prejudices, there's some truth here. Certainly, If you respect your taste- buds - as any reel man should- the words 'well' and 'done' should never be uttered in sequence in a restaurant. But going pink isn't merely posturing- a study published in the journal PLos One reports that over cooking your protein may increase your risk of prostate cancer by 50% particularly if it's grilled or charred (I did not believe this until I read the article). Unless you're ordering fillet (in which case, frankly you're all money and no taste) your smart bet is medium-rare. the meat stays moist, much of the fat renders out, and your health stays put (and plenty of protein is still  their).

New Blog Woop Woop. Are Bugs Really Becoming Immune To Antibiotics.

Hi Blogger

This is my new blog specialising in tips and tricks for keeping fit. I will also be randomly posting answers to questions I have been asked so if anybody has any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Now to answer the following: Are Bugs Really Becoming Immune To Antibiotics?

For a first post this may seem weird but as it is winter, people are more likely to catch bugs. Things are heading this way, yes. We are a pill-popping nation and nature is wising up to our habits. At least 17 strains of bacteria have evolved to survive some of the world's strongest bug-killers. Doctors write up to 36 million antibiotics prescriptions a year in England alone, often foe little more than a runny nose. The net result is that they're losing their potency and you guys are now more vulnerable as a result. reduce your risk of infection by following the three simple steps bellow:

1) Total Wipe Out
Lingering sweat provides an ideal breeding ground for germs such as staphylococcus, which can cause skin infections and can live for weeks on gym equipment. A sanitising wipe will nix them; make sure you pack some before you head down to the gym. You may look like an idiot wiping the gum equipment before you use it but you will get the last laugh when you are the only person in the gym without an infection.

2) Steer Clear
The antibacterial agent triclosan, found in some soaps and hand sanitizers, can prevent your body from building immunity to bacteria that would normally be harmless. It's worth checking the ingredients in your soaps.

3) Trade It Up

When prescribed an antibiotic, ask your GP if you can take a drug that is specific to your condition. The broader the type of antibiotic, the more benign bugs it will kill, giving harmful bacteria a chance to grow stronger.

That's todays tip. I will try to post as often as possible.
